50 is the new 20

I don't know where this summer is going, but it's simultaneously flying and creeping by.

It's 2:30 in the afternoon with a sweaty napless baby on my lap and two bored big sisters asking for popsicles and the clock hasn't moved in an hour and a half and then I look up and it's three weeks later...

Anyway, I'm behind on sharing some pictures from my birthday canoe trip with Chase and the girls.

We had a blast. Being 30 so far is a lot like being 29 - it's over 100 degrees every day and my bangs won't do what I want them to.

Really though, I think 30 might be a bigger milestone for people who didn't see that plus sign on the little stick quite so early in their 20s. It definitely doesn't mean "finally grown up" to me... On the other hand, I'm looking forward to some wild and crazy 50s, when all the rest of you suckers are still ferrying your kids between soccer and ballet.

A Belated Happy Birthday and I can shout Amen to your comment about being 50 and not ferrying your kids around. Passed that milestone in Feb. and I have not made a lunch or done a carpool in years!! I still love play dates though, but they don't involve the playground or peanut butter sandwiches.
